While I do stress the importance of small businesses to move online to find new customers, there are still a wealth of customers to be found offline in the community. This can easily be done by those who are willing to go out and promote their business the old fashioned way.
One way that I have always found that works is by leaving fliers on car windows in local areas. This works by encouraging local people to get involved in the business. Speak about how you help the community on them and give back, they will be likely to patron your business if they know that you also help their neighborhood.
Another way to do this is to get involved at local charities and fundraisers. This will get your name out there as a philanthropist and help you to give to worthy causes while generating revenue and buzz. People will always remember someone that donated to their charity and will likely go out of their way to go to your store or patronize your company. Remember, they will come back for donations again though. So be sure that you can afford it so that you don’t break the bank.Snail mail is also still a great tool to talk about specials that you are having or secret deals. This is a fairly expensive method of reaching people unless you have someone hand out the mail by hand. Consider the prices when choosing a local method of advertisement.
